Amatrice.. a rare diamond lost somewhere in Italy..
Amatriciana’s story begins in Amatrice, a town in the Lazio region of Italy, where the dish evolved from a simpler version called “gricia”. The ingredients were just Pork Cheek , Lard , Black Pepper and Pecorino Romano, later on, the recipe changed, when the tomatoes were imported to Italy they were added to the recipe! Nonna’s Amatriciana has as well Red Onion, another variant, that gives to this amazing and simple dishes an amazing and unique taste!
Ingredients
Italian Durum Semolina Flour, Red Onion, Smoked Pancetta, Roma Tomatoes, Vinegar, Salt, Extra Virgin Oil.
Heating Instructions
For frozen food, fully defrost before following the heating instructions.
- Microwave: Small size – 2 minutes
- Pan: Add 6 tablespoons of water to a pan, then add the pasta and stir for about 2–3 minutes
